Ingredients
1 oz Lot 40 Rye1 oz sweet red vermouth
1 oz Campari
.25 oz ginger cardamom syrup*
.25 oz fresh grapefruit juice
Dash Orange Juniper bitters from Okanagan Spirits
Garnish: Star anise
Method
Add all ingredients to shaker with ice and pour into chilled cocktail glass. Add fresh ice, garnish and serve.
* For syrup, bring 1 cup water and 1 cup of sugar to the boil. Add 2 tbsp chopped fresh ginger and 3 crushed cardamom pods. Remove from heat, cover and let steep until cooled. Strain into bottle and store in fridge for up to two weeks.
