Pat Rehn's Mexican Vacation
I present "Pat Rehn's Mexican Vacation". This tasty mix of low end tequila and bitter lime includes some pine syrup as a nod to that "first sawmill in Wabasca" and a genuine Slave Lake spruce tip, just to remind the MLA that his people are waiting. Best served in a cave. Or Texas. Or a taxpayer funded city suite. Or wherever you're hiding out. #politicalcocktailsof2021 #cocktailsofquarantine #resignpatrehn

Pat Rehn used to be my MLA. He was parachuted in to the Lesser Slave Lake riding as a hand-picked UCP candidate. Over Christmas, he traveled to Mexico against his province's own recommendations and posted it on his Facebook page. According to Slave Lake Town Council, he has done a poor job representing the area. There were also problems with his expense claims. Instead of admitting wrong-doing, he doubled down by defending his actions. After a public outcry, the UCP removed him from caucus. He is still the MLA.
Ingredients
2 oz tequila
.5 oz lime juice
.5 oz spruce syrup
Salt and tajin to rim glass
Garnish: Pineapple wedge and pickled spruce tip
Method
Put tequila, lime and spruce syrup in blender with ice and blend. Rim margarita glass with salt and tajin. Pour in the drink, garnish and serve.
