The Kudatah

A bunch of Trump supporters marched on Congress at his suggestion in the Capitol Riot. Five people died. If it was an attempted coup d'etat, it wasn't a very good one. In Alberta, back in 2016, a bunch of disgruntled conservatives supported a guy by the name of George Clark who wanted to overthrow the elected government by plebiscite in something one of his fans called a "kudatah". The Alberta Plebiscite Warriors were roundly mocked on social media. But in the next election, they got their way. What's my point. I dunno. Maybe pay attention to those who feel disenfranchised? Even if they are misinformed. 

Ingredients

1.5 oz Lot 40 Rye or other Canadian rye whiskey
.5 oz grenadine⁣
.5 oz sweet red vermouth
.25 oz orange liqueur⁣
1 barspoon Fernet-Branca⁣

Garnish: Maraschino Cherry

Method

Chill coup glass in freezer

Add all ingredients to cocktail shaker, add ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Pour into chilled glass and serve. Maybe with something cheesy.
