Salted Caramel Sour

 

Kind of a windy, rainy day. Perfect for this salted caramel sour, using some infused vodka, brandy, lime juice, egg white and a spoonful of the Gula Melaka I brought back from Malaysia last year. Generally I don't use vodka in any of my cocktails since it's pretty much tasteless. However I usually infuse a bottle at Christmas time for various uses.

Ingredients

2 oz infused Christmas vodka*
1 oz brandy
.5 oz lime juice
egg white
1 barspoon Gula Melaka or salted caramel sauce

Garnish: Lime wheel

Method 

Add vodka, brandy, lime juice, Gula Melaka and egg white to shaker. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Add ice. Shake again. Pour into glass, garnish and serve.

* Christmas vodka. Add 2 cinnamonn sticks, 5 whole cloves, 1 tbsp of demerara sugar and three strips of orange peel to a bottle of vodka. Infuse for a week and strain out solids. Keeps indefinitely?
