Cupboard Cocktail

I have a lot (English teachers: note "a lot" is two damn words) of odds and ends of weird liquor. I am trying to get rid of some of it by making weird cocktails. This one was surprisingly not as fucking terrible as I thought. Some absolutely atrocious Romanian brandy sold in a pop bottle on the Transfagarasan Pass. Some weird thing called "Slafstrunk Kittel" which according to their website is a "calming nightcap," plus some homemade Madagascar style rum arrange, some homemade spruce syrup and pickled spruce tips. FYI more than 6000 people died of COVID-19 today. Real human beings. How is your goddamn day going?

Ingredients

1 oz brandy
1/2 oz Slafstrunk Kittel
1/2 oz rum arrange (rum that has bee
n infused with orange rind and a cinnamon stick for at least 3 months)
1/2 oz spruce syrup
pickled spruce tip


Spruce syrup: Pick a couple of small clean fir branches. Wash thoroughly and strip all needles into a saucepan. Add 1 cup water and bring to a boil. Let steep 1 hour ad the strain. Add 1 cup water ad bring to a boil. Pour into glass jar and store in fridge up to 3 weeks.

Shake all ingredients in shaker with ice and strain over fresh ice in rocks glass. Garnish with pickled spruce tip.
